The Story Behind Our Name

CynthiaJoy is more than a corporate name. It is the founder’s name and the beginning of the company’s story.

“Joy” was given to Cynthia by her parents because, as her mother explained, her birth brought joy. Years later, when the company entered a new season of growth and purpose, Cynthia chose to build its identity around the two names that had always belonged to her: Cynthia and Joy.

The name represents personal ownership, resilience, and the responsibility to build something meaningful. It reflects a belief that business should do more than complete transactions—it should strengthen people, create opportunities, and leave something valuable for those who come next.

Founded in 2011, CynthiaJoy, Inc. began with a vision of building a business rooted in service, family, and shared opportunity. Its earliest work focused on serving individuals and businesses through practical, relationship-centered support.

As founder Cynthia “Thia” Brounno gained experience and perspective, her understanding of service matured. She recognized that lasting progress rarely happens in isolation. Stronger outcomes are created when people bring together complementary strengths, shared accountability, and a genuine commitment to one another’s success.

Between 2019 and 2021, that vision expanded to include government contracting and opportunity-specific collaboration. CynthiaJoy, Inc. began developing into the independent strategic business solutions and government-contracting company it is today—bringing together business operations, financial stewardship, program support, data-informed decision-making, corporate travel and logistics, and purposeful partnerships.
